Lactation Consultations
Breastfeeding can be beautiful. It can also be challenging. We can help.
Visits are often covered by health insurance

We desire for you to have a positive experience feeding your baby. Sometimes, breastfeeding brings challenges and that's why Jessica Bower became an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). Moms need individualized, non-judgemental, evidence-based support to assist them as they breastfeed.
Private Lactation Consultations in your home are FREE for you with most BCBS, Cigna, Humana, and Anthem health insurance plans. Some Aetna and some United Healthcare plans are covered. To get pre-approved for visits during pregnancy or to get approval once your baby is here, complete this Lactation Network form now.
In-Home Lactation Consultations:
Jessica comes to you in the comfort of your home for a comprehensive 60-90 minute visit. This visit includes assessments of you, your baby, and a feed at the breast (and/or bottle). Weight checks occur before and after feeds at the breast so that you know exactly how much your baby eats. A pumping session is assessed if desired. Jessica specializes in helping with these common challenges:
-
Painful feedings
-
Damaged nipples
-
Low milk supply
-
Over production of milk
-
Tongue or lip tie
-
Slow weight gain
-
Nipple shields
-
Pumping plans
-
Education, reassurance, and more
Feeding Plan:
We work with you to set up a feeding plan that works for your baby. Often times this is a plan to exclusively breastfeed. However, sometimes this plan includes options for supplementation. We are sure help create a plan that works for the benefit of the whole family. Partners are encouraged to attend lactation consultations to listen and to learn how they can help the mom and baby.
Payment:
Fill out this Lactation Network form now to verify insurance coverage. We do NOT charge travel fees or home visit fees (unless travel time is over 2 hours). We are based in the Triad and will happily travel to Greensboro, Winston-Salem, Burlington, High Point and beyond.
If you have a health insurance plan that is not covered by The Lactation Network (form above), payment is due at the time of service (FSA and HSA cards are accepted) and we will provide you with a coded receipt that you can provide to your insurance company requesting reimbursement; however, reimbursement is not guaranteed as in-home lactation may be considered out of network.
Fees if not covered by insurance:
Home Visit Fee - $175
Virtual Visit Fee - $75
