We desire for you to have a positive experience feeding your baby. Sometimes, breastfeeding brings challenges or uncertainties and that's where Jessica Bower - an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) and mom of four children - can help. Moms need individualized, non-judgemental, evidence-based support to assist them as they gain confidence in feeding their babies. We know that the best place for moms to receive support is in the comfort of their own homes - so that's why we come to you for all lactation support. We are right beside you in your bedroom, the nursery, or your living room to assist you as you reach your feeding goals.

Private Lactation Consultations in your home are fully covered for you with most health insurances. We are in-network with Aetna, UHC, UMR, Cigna, BCBS, Anthem, and more. Most insurance plans cover 6 or more visits. Complete the contact form below to get pre-approved for coverage in pregnancy. If your baby has already arrived, all attempts are made to do a visit in your home within 24 hours of completing the form.

In-Home Lactation Consultations:

Jessica supports you in your home for a comprehensive 60-90 minute visit. This visit includes assessments of you, your baby, and a feed at the breast (and/or bottle). Weight checks occur before and after feeds at the breast so that you know exactly how much your baby eats. A pumping session is assessed if desired. Jessica specializes in helping with these common challenges:

  • Painful feedings

  • Damaged nipples

  • Breastfeeding refusal

  • Low milk supply

  • Over production of milk

  • Tongue or lip tie

  • Slow weight gain in baby

  • Weaning from nipple shields

  • Breastfeeding after a NICU stay

  • Pumping plans for back to work

  • Bottle refusal

  • Education, reassurance, and more

Feeding Plan:

We work with you to establish a feeding plan that helps the whole family thrive. Often times this is a plan to exclusively breastfeed. However, sometimes this plan includes options for supplementation. Mothers are asked for feedback when establishing feeding goals. We know that there's no feeding plan that is "one size fits all" and we develop unique plans for each mother. Partners are encouraged to attend lactation consultations to listen and to learn how they can help the mom and baby. Between our visits, you can text us questions. We know that babies and their feeding habits change often and the feeding plan must be flexible. That's why we are available with necessary feedback on demand and why we usually visit the same family several times.

Travel Fees:

We do not charge travel fees to come to your home! If you are in the Triad or the area around the Triad, we are happy to come to your home to work with you and your baby.

Insurance Covered Visits:

Most clients will receive visits for free with their health insurance. After completing the contact form below, you will be contacted via text so that we can let you know if you qualify for free benefits.

Non-Insurance Covered Visits:

Most moms will have insurance covered visits. If you do not have coverage for free visits, we can still support you in the comfort of your home and you can pay with check, cash, or card. Contact us for pricing options.
